Nutella-Stuffed Pancakes
Nutella-Stuffed Pancakes are a delicious treat that combines fluffy pancakes with a gooey Nutella center.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk (you can also use regular milk)
- 1/4 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Nutella (as much as you prefer for the filling)
- Butter or oil for cooking
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, fresh berries, sliced bananas, powdered sugar
Instructions:
1. Preparing the Pancake Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well with a whisk until all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), egg, and melted butter until well combined.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula or whisk until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. The key to fluffy pancakes is not overworking the batter.
2. Cooking the Pancakes:
- Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can also lightly grease the pan with butter or oil.
- Let the pancake cook for about 1-2 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface. This indicates it's time to add the Nutella.Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can also lightly grease the pan with butter or oil.
- For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet, creating a small round pancake. If you prefer larger pancakes, you can pour more batter, but keep in mind you'll need to adjust the Nutella filling accordingly.
3. Adding the Nutella Filling:
- Once bubbles have formed on the surface of the pancake, take a teaspoon or more of Nutella (as much as you prefer) and place it in the center of the pancake.
- Carefully spread the Nutella outwards towards the edges of the pancake, leaving a small border to prevent it from oozing out during cooking.
4. Finishing the Pancake:
- After spreading the Nutella, carefully flip the pancake with a spatula to cook the other side. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the pancake is fully cooked and lightly golden brown on both sides.
5. Repeating the Process:
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter, making sure to add Nutella to each pancake as they cook.
6. Serving the Nutella-Stuffed Pancakes:
- Once all the pancakes are cooked, serve them immediately while they're warm and the Nutella center is still gooey.
- You can top the pancakes with more Nutella, a dollop of whipped cream, fresh berries, sliced bananas, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar, depending on your preference.
Enjoy your heavenly Nutella-stuffed pancakes! They make a perfect indulgent breakfast or a delightful dessert option.
